NextDoor Theater is proud to announce auditions for its production of ‘The Full Monty’!
Stage Director: Nancy Curran Willis
Music Director: Dan Rodriguez
Choreographer: Jen Condon
Managing Artistic Director: Adam Schuler
Producing Artistic Director: Brian Milauskas
Auditions for the role of NATHAN LUKOWSKI will take place on
Sunday November 6th starting at 1:00pm by appointment with an open call from 2:00-3:00pm.
Nathan Lukowski – Jerry's young son. 12. Range: age appropriate. “12 years old going on forty” - wise beyond his years but young-looking for his age. Must be at least 10 year's old. Jerry and Pam's son; loves his father, but too often realizes that he has to play the role of adult to Jerry; ensemble singing whenever possible. Nathan can be stoic, sincere, and charming, but ultimately real as he deals with his parents' custody battle. Key player who does a lot of witnessing.
PARENTS PLEASE READ
PARENTS: You are encouraged to watch the original movie and find an opportunity to read the musical's entire script BEFORE your young man auditions. The movie is Rated R for language and differs from the play in significant ways. The script for the play is available from the library, book stores, or you can contact us directly for a perusal. Nathan sees and hears adult-themed content and, critically, drops the f-bomb (says “f**k” once - no exceptions). This role is strictly for a young male performer: no girls auditioning as boys. May end up a non-singing, non-dancing role.
If interested in auditioning and cannot attend the auditions, please submit your headshot and resume for consideration along with your audition availability between now and November 4th.
For auditions, please be familiar with the show and be prepared to do cold readings.
Auditions & callbacks will take place at the NextDoor Theater in Winchester, located at 40 Cross St.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON FINDING THE THEATER: Cross Street spans two towns and for some reason certain GPS devices misguide patrons (and actors) to the opposite end of our street. If you are looking at a map please locate the “Washington Street” end of Cross Street and plan on finding us closer to that intersection than the “Main Street” end.
Rehearsals will begin the week of November 20th and will be held on
Sundays between 2:00-10:00 and on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings from 7:00p-11:00p.
Nathan will be called only on Sundays until after January 2 when he will be needed at most rehearsals.
There will be ten performances of ‘The Full Monty’ the weekends of January 13th- Feb 4th

Based on the cult hit film of the same name, The Full Monty, a ten-time Tony Award nominee, is filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and the most highly anticipated closing number of any show. The powerhouse team of Terrence McNally (Ragtime) and David Yazbek (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) cooks up an aggressive crowd-pleaser that both entertains and grabs your heart.
While spying on their wives at a "Girls' Night Out," a group of unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo sees how much they enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold and unclothed way to make some quick cash. In preparing, they find themselves extremely exposed; not merely physically but emotionally. As they conquer their fears, self-consciousness and prejudices, the men come to discover that they're stronger as a group, and the strength that they find in each other gives them the individual courage to "let it go."
The Full Monty is a story full of heart. Right to the end, audiences will be wondering if these lovable misfits will really pull it off. With a raucous mix of razor-sharp humor and toe-tapping pizzazz, this heartwarming, upbeat comedy is a must for any theatre looking for a big hit.
